Ukraine intercepts over half of jet-powered Shahed drones, Zelenskyy says

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine is currently intercepting 55% of Russian jet-powered Shahed drones and more than 90% of conventional Shaheds.

Quote: "Ukraine's interception rate for jet-powered Shaheds is now 55%. In September more than 2,730 jet-powered Shaheds were launched, and over 1,500 of them were shot down or jammed.

Of course a significant number reach their targets, unfortunately, but step by step, we will build up Ukraine's defences and make them no less effective than the defences we already have against conventional Shaheds, over 90% of which are shot down."

Details: Zelenskyy also said that "many intelligence agencies have information that the Russians want to expand their war and their activities to other countries, possibly other regions".

"That is why we need to build up our defences together. We need to defend ourselves together, proactively," he stressed.

Zelenskyy announced that the 12th Drone Deal will be signed with a "powerful state" in the coming weeks.
