Trump says he could use Graham bill if necessary

US President Donald Trump has said he is prepared to use the Graham law, which concerns sanctions against Russia, if necessary.

Details: In his speech, Trump said he had signed a "powerful new law passed by Congress" last week in honour of Senator Lindsey Graham, giving him significant new powers to impose tariffs.

"If necessary, I will have to use them. It's time to stop the killing," he said, referring to the need to bring Russia's war against Ukraine to an end.

Trump said the United States was working closely with the leaders of Russia and Ukraine to end the war.

More details: Trump also thanked First Lady Melania Trump for her efforts to secure the return "of many displaced Ukrainian and Russian children back home to their families".
