SENATE CONFIRMS MARKWAYNE MULLIN AS HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY
In a 54–45 vote, the Senate has confirmed Oklahoma Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin to serve as President Trump’s second Homeland Security Secretary in his current term, replacing Kristi Noem.
The vote comes as the partial DHS shutdown stretches into Day 38. Democrats John Fetterman ( 😱 ) and Martin Heinrich voted in favor, while Sen. Rand Paul was the only Republican to vote no.
