NO KINGS: GENERATIONS UNITED IN ST. PAUL

From Jane Fonda to Tom Morello and Bruce Springsteen, familiar voices were part of a much bigger moment in St. Paul.

One moment that stood out came from Joan Baez, who reflected on first singing “The Times They Are A-Changin’” alongside Martin Luther King Jr. in Grenada, Mississippi, and later at the March on Washington. Decades later, she sang it again at No Kings with Maggie Rogers and Tom Morello, bridging generations in real time.

Seeing voices many grew up with or alongside added weight to the moment, but the energy came from the crowd itself. A mix of generations, backgrounds, and perspectives all showing up, making it clear this moment is bigger than any one name.
