Germany's far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has said preparations are underway for a Russia-US-Germany forum scheduled to take place in 2027.

Source: Markus Frohnmaier, deputy leader of the AfD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, in a comment to Russian newspaper Izvestia, as reported by European Pravda

Details: Frohnmaier said his party has been in contact with Kirill Dmitriev, special envoy to Russian ruler Vladimir Putin, about holding a business forum to be attended by representatives from Germany, Russia and the United States.

"We are in contact with Mr Dmitriev. Information on venues will be published in due course," the German politician said.

He added that the AfD intends to raise the issues of Nord Stream and economic cooperation at the forum.

Dmitriev had previously said that Russia would be willing to organise the event in 2027.

US officials have not yet commented on whether they will attend.
