Fourth in three months: WHO warehouse damaged in Russian attack on Odesa Oblast – photos

A World Health Organization (WHO) warehouse in Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast, has been damaged in another Russian attack.

Details: No staff were present at the site during the attack and no one was injured.

Early reports from the organisation indicate that temperature-controlled storage facilities containing medical supplies were damaged. The extent of the losses is still being assessed.

WHO Ukraine reported that this was the fourth time one of its warehouses has been affected in the past three months. The organisation said this was the 21st attack on medical supply storage facilities in 2026. However, it did not mention that Russia was responsible for the attacks.

Background:

• On the night of 20-21 September, Russian forces attacked warehouse facilities in Odesa Oblast, causing a large fire. The buildings had been attacked earlier.
• In July, a warehouse used by WHO was damaged in a large-scale wave of Russian attacks on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast. Another incident occurred in August, when Russia hit a humanitarian warehouse in the city of Dnipro.
• In early September, Russia struck one of Ukraine's largest specialised pharmaceutical warehouses, the Biocon logistics complex in Kyiv Oblast's Boryspilskyi District. WHO reported that one of its main medical supply storage sites was destroyed.
